Last week, I was praying in Galveston. As I looked out over East Beach, I saw a lone pelican enjoying breakfast. He patrolled back and forth, scanning the waters, then dove strategically to catch his prize. Over and over he dove and scored before his buddy joined him. By the time they flew away, both seemed quite content. Among the scores of other pelicans on the island, these two had found the secret bounty.
The scene replayed in my mind when I got home, and the Holy Ghost spoke to me that 2019 would be a year of fulfillment.
The Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesian church that they would be “filled with all the fullness of God.” In Thessalonians, he prayed that “God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power.”
What has God promised you? What have you been standing in faith to receive from Him? To accomplish for Him? God’s plan for us is good, and His power to accomplish His work in our lives is limitless. How wonderful to imagine that He would fulfill us in this way as we wait expectantly for Him, acting on His word!
As the pelicans did not stop feeding until they were filled, so we will not stop until we receive the fullness of God’s plan in our church and in our own lives. What God has spoken, he will make it good.
