Naaman's Milestone

This sermon explores the story of Naaman from 2 Kings 5, breaking his journey into three parts—the setup, the mix-up, and the get-up. Naaman is praised as a man of honor, valor, and favor — yet he carries a hidden issue: leprosy. God sets him up for healing by placing a young Israelite servant girl in his household, who directs him to the prophet Elisha. The “mix-up” begins when Naaman expects healing to come on his terms — through status and ceremony — but instead is told to dip in the Jordan River. Offended but desperate, he eventually humbles himself, obeys, and receives his miracle. The message teaches that divine milestones often start with discomfort, challenge our pride, and require obedience over opinion. True breakthrough comes when we move from resistance to surrender — from standing still to “getting up” into what God has prepared.
